Product Description

This is a sleeveless robe worn over the armor by the army’s shogun on the field back in the time when the samurai were in battle. The robe was designed without sleeves so they could easily move on the field. The warlords tried their best to come up with a unique design of innovative patterns and flashing colors to express presence and dignity. The battle surcoat of Oda Nobunaga, a leading warlord of the Warring States Period, was an exotic unique design, imitating the cloak of the missionaries, who came from Portugal. The robes of other remarkable warlords of the same time, such as Toyotomi Hideyoshi or Tokugawa Ieyasu, are kept safely in museums even now. This time, we revived this coat, worn by high rank warlords of the Warring States Period, in a modern style. This sleeveless, easy-to-move design can be simply worn over a suit or jacket. Today’s battle scene, the business scene… How about feeling the spirit of the samurai of the Warring States Period and wearing it over your business suit? High-quality silk was used and the ancient patterns were delicately dyed in a magnificent, elegant way. The robe was tailored with careful hand stitching as well. We are certain that this robe will meet your expectations.
